There were two primary issues we were confronted with while designing this system
First, the congregation lacks a member that can be at services every morning in order to operate the sound system. So, we needed a solution that allowed for a one time setup of optimum levels with the ability to recall the settings and plug and play every Sunday. This issue was resolved by the incorporation of a fully digital mixing console with presets and total recall.... the Yamaha O1V96V2
The second issue was the position of the pastors pulpit in relation to the appropriate mounting position for a center cluster of speakers. The pulpit is set out in front of the rest of the altar, which left the pulpit microphone very vulnerable to feedback.
By utilizing the EAW MQH1366, with its four amplifier channels and four channels of processing... we were able to mount this speaker and process this speaker to be steered right past the pulpit, avoiding feedback issues altogether, while at the same time reducing the cost of additional speakers.
Upon completion of the installation, optimal levels were set by Kyle and Rashid, and the church was left with two presets. One for the traditional services, and one for the contemporary services. Every seat in the house is within 3 dB of each other, offering vocal intelligibilty to every member of the congregation.
